Speculative Position Sizing and Money Management Theory
Trading technique and technical analysis skills are important. But, for a trader, the most important aspect of their business to get right is position sizing and money management. Poor position sizing and money management can turn good technical analysis into a losing proposition. Position sizing refers to the number of units invested in a particular security. A trader's account size and risk tolerance should be taken into consideration when determining appropriate position sizing. In this session Trevor Neil will look at five popular position sizing methods and discuss their characteristics, advantages and disadvantages.  The session will also look at how a day trader should manage their money to avoid getting close to 'game over'. The more complex implications of constructing an investment portfolio will be covered in a future session. Trevor Neil will demonstrate how you can determine your own and/or your firm’s ‘attitude’ to risk so you can manage and leverage your capital or trading credit to meet your objectives. This session will help you join the elite group of market winners.
